Both emo guys and emo
girls wear makeup. Most
noticeable is the eyeliner which
is black and thick-lined. But
the colors may vary.
Then there is the mascara to
give the eyes a pretty look.
Finally, the skin is generally
lighter in tone by using
foundation. Girls may experiment
with eye shadow, which also
tends to be dramatic¡K going all
the way up to the eyebrows. It
is mostly the scene kids that
tend to be more playful with the
colors and gaudiness. The lips
are mostly lighter in color as
well with lip gloss or pale
lipstick or even chapstick. The
influences came from a mixture
of glam rock (think David Bowie
in the 80¡¦s) and Goth (think
Marilyn Manson).
