Paramore Biography

What started off as a simple move to Tennessee for singer Hayley Williams became the starting point for one of the hardest hitting bands to ever grace the charts. Little did she know that she and her brothers would soon start a band that would sell millions of albums and tour all around the world. And that band is Paramore.

Soon after arriving at Tennessee, Hayley began taking singing lessons from the world famous Brett Manning. Inspired by bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate, Death Cab for Cutie, Thrice, New Found Glory, and much more, Hayley and her brothers, Josh and Zac Farro decided to start Paramore (the maiden name of one of the former bass player¡¦s mother) in 2004. With Josh on the guitar, Zac on the drums, Hayley on the vocals, Jeremy Davis on the bass guitar, and next door neighbor Jason Bynum on the rhythm guitar, the group set out to rock the world. The band started playing at local shows as well as concert festivals such as Warped Tour. Their charisma and Hayley¡¦s powerful voice enchanted all and they were soon discovered by John Janick (co-founder of Fueled by Ramen) and signed to the label in 2005. However, shortly after the signing, Jeremy Davis left the band and was replaced by John Hembree. The departure would be short-lived though as Davis returned to the band merely 5 months after leaving to replace Hembree. The band¡¦s first album, All We Know Is Falling was released in July of 2005.

Paramore would then go on tour and play at numerous events but it wasn¡¦t until 2007 that they met their big break. Their second album, RIOT!, was a major success. Hayley explains, ¡§For us, the title ¡¥RIOT!¡¦ literally means an unbridled outburst of emotions. When we were writing, it seemed like our thoughts and emotions were coming out so fast that we couldn¡¦t control them. It felt like there was a riot within us. So the album takes our passion to a new level; it¡¦s just all raw energy.¡¨ With singles like ¡§Misery Business¡¨ and ¡§Crushcrushcrush,¡¨ the album went platinum. Paramore exploded and quickly hit the airwaves. The Alternative Press named the band the band of 2007 and they were also nominated for a Grammy. ¡@

With their new found fame, Paramore released their next album entitled Brand New Eyes. The album was critically acclaimed and is the band¡¦s most successful album to date. It topped the charts in numerous countries and was certified Gold in the United States. ¡¨Ignorance¡¨ was the leading single off of the album and reflected on personal experiences of the band. Many critics have stated that the band¡¦s live performances are what make them so special. With Hayley¡¦s energy and vibe, audiences are entranced by her performance as she gives it her all.

With their highly popular songs, numerous awards, and in-your-face attitude, Paramore has quickly become one of the fastest rising bands in recent history. There is no telling when the band will slow down.
